HSE POLICY

Every INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD employee must plan and perform, his her activities in accordance with the HSE policy. Activity must be suspended when the employee believes that it can not be carried out in accordance with the policy and must report this immediately to his supervisor.

Has a policy that its business will be organized, planned and executed in such a manner as to:

  1. Protect and promote the health of the workforce as well as to conduct all activities in such a manner not to adversely affect any third parties.
  2. Avoid injury to all workers, subcontractors, and third parties who are either involved in or are affected by INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD
  3. Ensure the personal security of the workforce and third parties from hostile action.
  4. Minimize the impact on the environment in which we operate.
  5. Promote community relations with the host communities.
  6. Observe our clients’ HSE rules and regulations and ensure that the client’s HSE objectives are achieved.

NIGHT DRIVING POLICY

Every INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD driver must plan and performs his movement in accordance with the HSE policy. Movement must be suspended if the driver believes that it could lead to night driving in accordance with this policy and must report this immediately to his supervisor.

The company is of the view that night driving is bad and should be avoided at all cost and on no condition should boats employed by INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD move or plan to move beyond 6.00 pm except in the case of rescue boats.

The following shall apply in case of emergency regarding night driving:

  • If emergency requires that the driver should stay outside beyond 6.00pm, the driver should park and sleep at any nearest safe hotel.
  • Drivers should ensure that movement with the vehicle to the nearest safe hotel is safe otherwise the car should be parked and taxi used instead
  • Staff who exceeds the posted night speed limit should be punished.

All policies regarding to driving must be strictly adhered to

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

Drug taken without trained first aide’s prescription amounts to abuse.

Therefore, on no account shall drug be taken without the consent and under the administration of a trained first aid.

Drinking storage and use of alcohol within the perimeter of our site is prohibited.

To this end, management will discipline employee and contactor staff who flaunts the stipulations of this policy.

NO SMOKING POLICY

Smoking is injurious to health. Therefore, smoking of any sort, inhalation or chewing of tobacco is prohibited on our work sites.

SEAT BELT POLICY

We shall ensure that:

  • All company vehicles are fitted with functions seat belt.
  • Occupants of a moving vehicle must wear seat belt
  • A vehicle, which does not meet with the above requirements, should not be given access into our premises.

WASTE MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL POLICY

Environment as it embraces the surrounding (land and soils) water and atmosphere, human marine, and wild lives all inclusive, good judgment, management and control of the effects or impacts generated from human activities on the environment is of immense important to INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD. Our site activities shall be well guided with strict commitment to environment protection in order to:

  • Achieve harmony with local community
  • Refrain from avoidable compensation
  • Work disruptions and stoppages from host community or clients
  • Minimize the potential of waste which cause harm to health.

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS POLICY

INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD shall continue to identify with the needs and aspirations of her clients host communities in the execution of her operations.

INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD is of the view that it shall not operate in isolation and therefore shall liaise with host communities, relevant government departments and others in order to ensure a safe and peaceful working atmosphere.

The company shall also ensure the building of solid and harmonious relationship with client and communities and shall exhaust every known peaceful strategy to resolve conflict in case of any disagreement.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION POLICY

All operations of INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD. shall be executed in such a manner as to minimize any adverse effect or impact on the environment in which we operate.

The waste of the planning and execution of our work shall be collected, handled, treated and disposed of in an environmental sound manner.

The act of discharging into the air or water bodies of any form of pollution is forbidden.

All regulation/legislation on environmental issues by the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its appropriate agencies such as Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) is binding on INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD.

The environment belongs to us all.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE) POLICY

It is the policy of INTER-SERVE NIG. LTD to provide relevant and high quality personal protective equipment-coveralls, safety shoes,/rain-boots, hard hats, hand gloves etc. for all persons engaged in her operations.

Continually, the management shall enforce the effective use and maintenance of available personal protective equipment, which entails regular condition audits and replacement of defective ones

Site safety officers and supervisors shall continue to monitor compliance with this policy.
